April Home Court Hero Presentation- 4/14/08

Dave Fischer and Aimee Grimord from Kapco, Sheri Bestor with North shore Academy of the Arts, Milwaukee Bucks Desmond Mason and Jake Voskuhl are honoring April’s Kapco’s Home Court Hero Recipient, Neil Willenson. Neil is the Founder and CEO of One Heartland, a national non-profit organization that makes a year-round and life-long difference for children, youth and their families impacted by HIV/AIDS and other significant life challenges worldwide.  In 1993, after befriending a five year old boy with the illness and witnessing the discrimination, pain and sadness that he experienced, Neil, then 22 years old, sought to provide a safe haven for children infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS.  Since the inception of Camp Heartland in 1993, thousands of children have participated in camp sessions where they can have fun, make friends, feel accepted, and speak openly about living with the disease.  Under Neil’s leadership, Camp Heartland has raised over 35 million dollars to support children with HIV/AIDS and other life challenges.  The Milwaukee Bucks thank Kapco for supporting Home Court Heroes. For Kapco there is no single greater reward than giving back to the community. Kapco…making people our priority!
